Construction Industry Crime Prevention

What is CICP?

The Construction Industry Crime Prevention Program of the Pacific Northwest (CICP) is an Oregon non-profit organization working toward the prevention and reduction of theft and vandalism on residential and commercial construction sites in the Pacific Northwest region. The CICP Network consists of public and private sector participants including building trade associations, contractors, law enforcement agencies, criminal justice partners, local and state civic leaders, and community members. Governed by a Board of Directors, the CICP continues to be representative of the diverse activity of the construction industry.

CICP'S MISSION IS CRIME PREVENTION IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

The prestigious CICP Padlock Award was presented to LCG Pence Construction for engaging jobsite neighbors in their theft prevention program by posting CICP reward signs. Those signs paid off when a neighbor called police and CICP to report that someone was breaking into the jobsite. Police responded with a K-9 unit and caught the suspect on the site. The thief was caught, there was limited damaged, nothing was stolen and the caller received a handsome reward. See the 2009 Spring newsletter for other 2009 CICP award winners.
